Syria election committee issues preliminary voter body lists for Hasakah, Ain al-Arab

Damascus, May 18 (SANA) Syria’s Higher Committee for People’s Assembly Elections on Monday issued preliminary electoral body lists for several districts in Hasakah and Aleppo provinces as part of preparations for parliamentary elections under the country’s temporary electoral system.

The committee announced the preliminary lists for the electoral districts of Hasakah, Al-Malikiyah and Qamishli in northeast Syria’s Hasakah province, as well as Ain al-Arab district in northern Aleppo province.

In statements published on its Telegram channel, the committee said the decisions were issued in accordance with the Constitutional Declaration and Decrees No. 66 and No. 143 of 2025.

The committee said the final electoral body lists, including the required quorum for each district under the temporary electoral system, will be selected from the preliminary lists.

It added that individuals with objections may file appeals before the relevant provincial appeals committees on May 18 and 19.

Parliamentary elections were held on October 5 in most governorates, while voting in Sweida and parts of Hasakah and Aleppo, was postponed to later dates.
