Quneitra, May 9 (SANA)–Israeli occupation forces released a young man from the southern countryside of Quneitra after detaining him for several hours.
SANA’s reporter in Quneitra said Saturday that the young man was arrested while grazing livestock west of Sida al-Hanout village southern Quneitra countryside, before being released a few hours later.
The reporter also added that Israeli forces targeted Tal Ahmar al-Sharqi in the southern Quneitra countryside with several shells and heavy machine-gun fire on Friday afternoon.
Yesterday, an Israeli force consisting of six military vehicles advanced toward the village of Sida al-Hanout, where it stopped west of the village, intercepted several shepherds, and detained the young man.
The force also moved toward of village of al-Razaniyah and set up a checkpoint at the roundabout leading to the village of Saida al-Golan before withdrawing from the area.
Israel continues its violations of the 1974 disengagement agreement through repeated incursions into southern Syria, as well as raids, arrests and land bulldozing operations targeting local residents.
Syria has repeatedly called for a full Israeli withdrawal from Syrian territory, stressing that all measures taken by Israel in southern Syria are null and void under international law and carry no legal effect.
Syria has also urged the international community to assume its responsibilities, deter Israeli practices and compel Israel to fully withdraw from southern Syria.
