Damascus, May 7 (SANA) Minister of Social Affairs and Labour Hind Kabawat met a Swedish delegation headed by Mikael Lindvall, Director-General for Global Affairs at Sweden’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs, to discuss cooperation in social development and civil society support.
The talks reviewed progress made in strengthening social cohesion and supporting civil society initiatives in Syria, alongside efforts related to implementing the core principles of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 on women, peace and security.
Both sides stressed the importance of continued international partnership, technical support and sustainable development efforts aligned with the objectives of the resolution.
The Swedish delegation also confirmed that Stockholm is seriously working toward reopening its embassy in Damascus.
