Hama, May 5 (SANA) Syrian security authorities said Tuesday they uncovered ammunition boxes and RPG rounds from a water well in al-Jid village in the western Hama countryside.
A security source told SANA that al-Ghab security operations received a report about the presence of weapons inside a well located within the home of a man identified as Yassin Ibrahim.
The source said a patrol from the special tasks unit, in coordination with civil defense teams from al-Raseef village, was dispatched to the site to verify the report and take necessary measures.
Several ammunition boxes and a number of RPG rounds were found, the source added.
Preliminary information indicates that the materials date back to a previous period, as they were disposed of during the liberation operations by groups that were present in the area at that time, noting that the seized items were properly confiscated and handed over to the competent authorities to complete the necessary legal procedures.
