Damascus, March 29 (SANA) Syria’s Foreign Ministry on Sunday strongly condemned the terrorist attack targeting the residence of Kurdistan Region of Iraq President Nechirvan Barzani, saying it poses a threat to security and stability in Iraq and the wider Middle East.
In a statement issued on its Telegram channel, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said the attack, carried out by armed groups, constitutes a violation of international law.
The ministry said such “hostile and illegal acts undermine stability in Iraq and the region,” reiterating Syria’s support for Iraq’s territorial integrity and its rejection of armed interference in its internal affairs.
Security sources in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq said a drone strike targeted the residence of Barzani.
The incident comes amid ongoing security concerns in parts of Iraq and the broader Middle East.
