Syria keeps Al-Bukamal crossing with Iraq open during Eid al-Fitr
Al-Bukamal Crossing

Deir Ezzor, March 18 (SANA) The General Authority for Borders and Customs said Wednesday that movement between Syria and Iraq through the Al-Bukamal border crossing in Deir Ezzor will continue throughout the Eid al-Fitr holiday, following a noticeable increase in arrivals and departures since the beginning of the week.

Mazen Alloush, director of public relations at the authority, said in a statement to SANA on Wednesday that the crossing will remain open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., in a move aimed at ensuring uninterrupted travel and facilitating the movement of passengers during the holiday period.

He said a set of organizational and service measures had been implemented to enhance traffic flow within the crossing, reduce congestion and accelerate entry and exit procedures, while providing guidance to travelers to ensure more efficient and flexible services.

Alloush called on travelers to adhere to the instructions issued by crossing authorities and to cooperate with staff to ensure smooth operations during the holiday period.

The authority said it has taken necessary preparations to accommodate the expected increase in travelers entering the country during the holiday, including boosting readiness at border points and providing facilities to expedite crossing procedures.
