Tartous, March 16 (SANA) A theatrical performance titled “Our Syrian Story” was staged Sunday at the Arab Cultural Center in Tartous to mark the anniversary of the Syrian Revolution. The play was performed by the Mobile Agricultural Theatre Troupe.
The production depicted key moments in Syria’s history and the sacrifices of its people, affirming values of belonging and national unity. It highlighted the role of art as an effective tool for strengthening social awareness and promoting the principles of brotherhood and solidarity.
Mohammad Ahmad, Director of Tartous Agriculture, stated in a remark to SANA that the performance reflects the history of the homeland and the losses it has endured over the past years.
He noted that Syrians, through their sacrifices, have been able to reunite under the nation’s embrace, united in their diversity to rebuild their country and revive the values of identity and belonging.
Playwright and director Mazen Nizam explained that the performance tells the story of Syrians before and after liberation, stressing that every individual has the right to live with dignity, and that art is a powerful medium for conveying humanitarian and national messages in a direct and impactful way.
Ragheb Ismail, head of the Mobile Agricultural Theatre Troupe, pointed out that the play showcases the creative role of agricultural engineers, who not only cultivate wheat and olives but also cultivate ethics and principles, and contribute to rebuilding the homeland, making the performance both artistic and educational.
