Damascus, March 15 (SANA) Syrian Minister of Economy and Industry Nidal al-Shaar issued a decision to set up the Syrian–Italian Business Council representing the Syrian side, as part of efforts aimed at promoting mutual economic cooperation.

According to the decision, the council will function in accordance with the regulations governing Syrian joint business councils with countries around the world.

Under the decision, the council will be the sole authorized body approved by the Ministry of Economy and Industry to represent this partnership framework.

Earlier on the same day, minister al-Shaar also issued a decision to form the Syrian–Lebanese Business Council on the Syrian side, within the framework of developing economic relations between the two countries.

According to the decision, the council will operate in accordance with the regulations governing Syrian joint business councils, and the decision enters into force as of its date of issuance.

The minister had previously issued, on January 20, a decision to establish the Syrian Council for the Coordination of Joint Business Councils, which serves as a comprehensive framework responsible for organizing, coordinating and developing the work of Syrian joint business councils with countries around the world.

During the past year, the Minister of Economy and Industry also issued several decisions establishing joint Syrian business councils with a number of friendly countries, aimed at supporting trade cooperation and strengthening economic partnerships.
