Damascus, Mar. 1 (SANA) – President Ahmad al-Sharaa held a phone call on Sunday with Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) leader Masoud Barzani to discuss ongoing regional developments and their implications for regional security and stability.
During the call, the two sides reviewed current tensions in the region and stressed the importance of coordination and cooperation to address crises through dialogue and peaceful means. They also warned of the risks posed by continued escalation and attacks targeting Arab states.
President al-Sharaa reaffirmed Syria’s position rejecting any violation of the sovereignty of Arab countries or actions undermining their security and stability.
The call comes as part of a series of diplomatic contacts conducted by the Syrian president over the past two days with several regional leaders, including the Emir of Kuwait, the President of the United Arab Emirates, the King of Bahrain, the Emir of Qatar, the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the Prime Minister of Iraq, focusing on regional escalation and efforts to preserve stability.
