Ankara, Feb. 27 (SANA) – Information Minister Hamza al-Mustafa said Friday that Syrian-Turkish relations are advancing rapidly across sectors since the fall of the deposed regime, with plans for a dedicated coordination mechanism to turn goodwill into action.
In an Anadolu Agency interview, al-Mustafa noted cooperation is already underway at media, ministerial and political levels. He welcomed a proposed round-the-clock communication bridge—announced two weeks ago by Turkish Presidential Communications Deputy Ferhat Pirinççi—to combat misinformation.
Al-Mustafa highlighted how heavy reliance on social media for news in Syria creates fertile ground for false narratives. His ministry is working to raise awareness of these risks and partnering with Türkiye and others to counter them.
The minister described Syria as a hub for regional and global collaboration, praising Türkiye’s key regional role and longstanding support for Syrians amid shared interests and challenges. He met Thursday with Presidential Communications Director Burhanettin Duran to lay groundwork for strategic anti-disinformation and public diplomacy partnerships.
