Amman, Feb. 24 (SANA) King Abdullah II of Jordan affirmed on Tuesday his country’s steadfast support for efforts aimed at enhancing the security and stability of Syria, emphasizing that a stable Syria is foundational to broader regional security.
During a meeting with members of the Jordan Press Association (JPA) council at Al-Husseiniya Palace, King Abdullah underscored the necessity of backing Syria’s institutional efforts to safeguard its security, stability, and territorial integrity.
Addressing the Palestinian cause, the Jordanian monarch reaffirmed the Kingdom’s ongoing coordination with international partners to protect the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. He called for an immediate halt to Israeli measures aimed at altering the established status quo in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem.
The King’s remarks build upon statements made last Wednesday during a meeting with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, where he emphasized the strategic importance of supporting the Syrian state’s reconstruction process. He highlighted that fostering recovery and development in Syria is essential for ensuring long-term prosperity and social stability in the Middle East.
