London, Feb. 17 (SANA) King Abdullah II of Jordan stressed the importance of supporting Syria’s efforts to preserve its security, stability and sovereignty during talks on Monday with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in London.
According to Jordan’s state news agency Petra, Abdullah expressed Jordan’s support for efforts aimed at maintaining stability in Syria.
The King also reiterated Jordan’s opposition to Israeli settlement expansion in the West Bank and attempts to impose control over the territory.
On Gaza, Abdullah called for full implementation of the ceasefire agreement and urged the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid across the enclave to ease civilian suffering.
Starmer, for his part, underscored the importance of ties between Britain and Jordan in supporting regional stability and said London was committed to strengthening cooperation in various sectors.
During his visit to London, Abdullah also met former British officials and members of parliament to discuss regional developments, including the situations in Syria, occupied Jerusalem and Gaza.
