Officials from the Ministry of Tourism and Elm Company sign a digital transformation agreement.

Damascus, Feb. 16 (SANA) Syrian Ministry of Tourism signed Monday a technical cooperation agreement with “Elm” Company of Saudi Arabia to enhance smart archiving, organize records, and develop data management systems, in a step aimed at modernizing the ministry’s information infrastructure and strengthening institutional governance.

The agreement, signed at the ministry’s headquarters in Damascus, seeks to upgrade administrative tools, improve operational efficiency, and reinforce governance principles, thereby enhancing the readiness of Syria’s tourism sector to meet the demands of the next phase of recovery and development.

Under the agreement, Elm Company will work in coordination with the ministry to establish advanced organizational and technical frameworks for managing documents and records, and to develop modern indexing and archiving systems that accelerate procedures, enhance transparency, regulate information flow, and support informed decision-making, while improving the quality of services provided to the tourism sector.

Minister of Tourism Mazen al-Salhani said in a statement to SANA that the ministry is not only keeping pace with digital transformation but is seeking to lead it within the tourism sector, describing the partnership with Elm Company as a strategic step toward expanding digital transformation and strengthening institutional innovation in line with strict governance and data management standards.

Al-Salhani emphasized that digital transformation must begin within government institutions, noting that the ministry aims to serve as a national model in sound digital administration, enabling the public sector to lead modernization efforts and establish benchmarks in efficiency and transparency for the broader tourism ecosystem.

For his part, Elm Company CEO Mohammad Alomair said the partnership builds on Saudi Arabia’s accumulated experience in government digital transformation, which has contributed to integrated digital systems that enhanced performance efficiency, transparency, and service quality.

Elm is a leading Saudi company specializing in integrated digital solutions and government digital transformation.
