Quneitra, Jan.27 (SANA) Israeli occupation forces demolished on Tuesday the remains of homes and damaged buildings surrounding Al-Arab Mosque in the Old City of Quneitra, in a move regarded as a new escalation targeting the city’s historical identity.

The demolition operations took place amid the absence of any information regarding the motives behind these actions or the next steps planned for the area.

Earlier this month, Israeli occupation forces levelled the old Golan Hospital in the devastated city of Quneitra, as part of what Syrian officials describe as systematic policies targeting the city’s landmarks.

Israel continues its attacks against Syrian territory in breach of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, international law and relevant United Nations resolutions. Syria condemns these attacks and calls on the international community to take a firm stance to halt them.
