Damascus, Feb. 13 (SANA) Syrian Information Minister Hamza al-Mustafa met Thursday with a Turkish delegation from the Directorate of Communications at the Turkish Presidency to discuss cooperation in countering rumors and disinformation.

The Ministry of Information said in a statement that the delegation was led by Professor , Ferhat Pirinççi, Deputy Head of the Directorate of Communications at the Turkish Presidency, alongside Turkish Ambassador to Damascus Nuh Yılmaz.

During the meeting, al-Mustafa outlined recent developments in Syrian media, highlighting efforts to modernize and rebuild the sector on stronger professional foundations.

The two sides also explored closer collaboration on systems to monitor and counter disinformation, drawing on Turkey’s experience in the field.

Earlier in November, al-Mustafa and Professor Burhanettin Duran, head of the Communications Directorate at the Turkish Presidency, met during the “TRT World Forum 2025” in Istanbul to discuss strengthening cooperation between their institutions.
