Aleppo, March 6 (SANA) Two residential buildings collapsed Friday in Aleppo’s Ashrafieh neighborhood, leaving several people trapped under rubble, the Syrian Civil Defense reported.
The first five-story building collapsed in the morning, with initial reports indicating that around 10 people remain trapped, including a family of seven. Specialized Civil Defense teams, supported by search dogs and heavy machinery, have been dispatched to clear debris and reach the victims safely. Neighboring buildings were evacuated as a precaution to protect civilians.
Later, the Civil Defense reported that parts of an adjacent building collapsed while rescue teams were on site. No injuries have been reported so far, but authorities warned of a high risk of further collapses, posing a serious threat to rescue personnel.
Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management Raed al-Saleh said that technical teams have been dispatched to expedite rescue operations and ensure the safety of trapped residents.
