Idlib, Feb. 9 (SANA) – Idlib Governor, Mohammad Abdulrahman, affirmed that President Ahmad al-Sharaa had stressed the importance of continuous follow-up by the authorities concerned to inspect the conditions of the displaced families residing in Idlib camps and meet their needs, particularly after the region was recently hit by a severe rainstorm and flooding. He noted that the government is exerting maximum efforts to provide support and care for them.
The Governor said that President al-Sharaa checked on the conditions of displaced residents in the camps during a phone call with him following the floods and torrential rains that struck the area.
President al-Sharaa stated that “the State’s primary objective is to ensure the safe return of the displaced to their cities and villages, and that all government actions across various sectors fall within a comprehensive plan for reconstruction and rebuilding,” stressing that all implemented projects and measures aim to secure a dignified return for them to their original areas.
Governor Abdulrahman added that President al-Sharaa emphasized the necessity of continuous monitoring of the displaced in the camps by all relevant bodies to ensure their needs are met and to facilitate their return to their homes as soon as possible.
Idlib Governorate had announced that dozens of displacement camps were damaged by recent rainstorms and floods, clarifying that the damage affected 24 camps housing 931 families, equivalent to 5,142 individuals.
