Aleppo, March 7 (SANA) Brig. Gen. Ziad al Ayesh, the presidential envoy tasked with implementing the January 29 agreement with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), met Saturday with Aleppo officials to discuss mechanisms for facilitating the return of displaced residents to al-Shyoukh subdistrict in Ain al-Arab and the Afrin area in Aleppo countryside.
Ahmad al Hilali, spokesman for the presidential committee, said the meeting with Aleppo Governor Azzam Gharib and several security and military officials focused on arrangements for the return of displaced persons. He added that officials hope all residents will be able to return home ahead of Eid al Fitr.

Al Hilali added that convoys of displaced people are expected to begin returning within the next two days, either to al-Shyoukh subdistrict in Ain al-Arab or from Hasakah back to Afrin.
The January 29 agreement between the Syrian government and the SDF included a ceasefire, phased integration between military and administrative structures, the deployment of Syrian security forces to Hasakah and Qamishli, and the handover of civilian and government institutions, crossings, and border points to the Syrian state.
