Damascus, Feb. 6 (SANA) The Damascus International Book Fair, held in an exceptional edition, witnessed a strong public turnout on its opening day, with large numbers of visitors attending cultural events and touring the stands of participating publishing houses.
The first-day program features a range of lectures and intellectual seminars, alongside poetry evenings, theatrical performances for children and adults, choral and religious chanting segments, as well as book-signing events for a number of novels, poetry collections, and literary works.
The fair opened on Thursday at the Damascus Conference Palace under the patronage and in the presence of President Ahmad al-Sharaa, with broad official and cultural participation, including several ministers, political and intellectual figures from Syria and the Arab world, in addition to prominent writers and intellectuals.
