In his remarks, minister al-Salhani highlighted the collaborative efforts behind the event, emphasizing its role in fostering Syria’s values of love, peace, and diversity. “The message from Tartous today is clear,” he said. “Syria is a country of peace, love, culture, and diversity. Now is the time to begin a new chapter of reconstruction and prosperity.”

Father Milad Farah, representing Archbishop Antoine Chbeir of the Maronite Archeparchy of Lattakia, spoke about the unifying power of Christmas. “Christmas represents new beginnings and renewed hope for Syria’s future,” he said, expressing optimism for the coming year.

Event organizer Soozi Khattar explained that while the Christmas market is usually held in Damascus, this year it was moved to Tartous to bring the festive spirit to communities across Syria. Running from December 13 to 31, the market offers a wide variety of activities for all ages, from food and gifts to games and crafts.

Visitors expressed their excitement, with many praising the festive atmosphere, the fireworks, and the lighting of the Christmas tree. The market will continue through the end of the month, providing a space for Syrians to come together in celebration and spreading a message of love, peace, and goodwill across the nation.
