Syrian participates at the United Cities and Local Administrations Conference, Turkey

A Syrian official delegation took part in the works of the United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) conference held in Konya Province, Turkey, to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise between Syrian cities and their counterpart across the region.

The elegation comprised Idleb Governor Mohammad Abdul Rahman, Hama Governor Abdul Rahman Al-Sahyan, Deputy Governor of Damascus Musab Badawi, Head of Administrative Units in Aleppo Muhammad Ali al-Aziz and Ali Assi, Head of Administrative Units in Latakia.

Organized in partnership between UCLG MEWA and the Konya Metropolitan Municipality, the congress will bring together local government representatives, experts, and stakeholders from countries across the region.

The event will focus on the following key themes: The Impact of Disasters on Agri-Food Systems, Post-Conflict Recovery Planning for Local Development, and Peacebuilding.

Hosted by the city of Konya, this prestigious event aims to foster the development of policies and partnerships that will shape the future of cities.

UCLG MEWA 2025 Congress will take place in Konya on October 2–4, 2025.
