A Civil Defense Center was established Sunday, in the city of Talkalakh, western Homs.
Syrian Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management Raed al-Saleh, said the center is part of a “comprehensive national plan aimed at strengthening rapid response capabilities to emergencies and disasters” nationwide. “New centers will be opened” in the next phase, he added.
The new center is equipped with a full range of firefighting, ambulance, and rescue vehicles, and operates through a centralized operations room to coordinate interventions and ensure swift response to incidents, according to the center’s director.
