Damascus, SANA-The Commander of Internal Security forces in Damascus, Brig. Gen. Osama Mohammad Khair Atikah, confirmed that the explosion in Mezzeh 86 neighborhood was caused by an improvised explosive device targeting a member of the Internal Security Forces.
In a statement on the Interior Ministry’s Telegram channel, Atikah said security units immediately responded, cordoned off and secured the site, and reported no casualties.
He added that competent authorities have launched an urgent investigation to identify those responsible for the terrorist act.
