Syrian delegation thanks Lebanese Army for its support in extinguishing coastal fires

Beirut, SANA-A delegation from the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management, headed by Syrian Civil Defense Director Mounir Mustafa, expressed gratitude to the Lebanese Army for its contribution to extinguishing the fires that broke out on the Syrian coast last month by dispatching helicopters.

During a visit to Lebanese Army Commander General Rodolphe, the delegation conveyed the Syrian Arab Republic’s appreciation to the army leadership for its efforts in supporting the firefighting operations.

The delegation affirmed that the Lebanese Army’s participation represents a noble humanitarian gesture and reflects the deep fraternal ties and mutual cooperation between the two brotherly nations.

The forest fires in Latakia’s countryside affected more than 16,000 hectares of forested land, including 2,200 hectares of agricultural land, and caused damage to 45 villages in the region.
