Qatar: We support Syrian efforts to extinguish Latakia fires

Doha, SANA-Khalid Al-Humaidi, head of the Qatari International Search and Rescue team, said that the team’s participation in combating Latakia wildfire reflects Qatar’s ongoing commitment to supporting brotherly Syrian people.

In statements made to the Qatar News Agency (QNA), Al-Humaidi explained that the 130-personnel team carried out ground and aerial operations in direct coordination with Syria’s Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management and Latakia’s governorate, with continuous follow-up from the Qatari Embassy in Damascus.

On Tuesday, Syria’s Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management, Raed al-Saleh, expressed gratitude to Qatar, Turkey, Jordan, Iraq, and Lebanon, for their significant role in extinguishing wildfires raged Latakia countryside for 12 days.
