Syrian Foreign Ministry signs MoU with Turkish Maarif Foundation to expand educational cooperation in Syria

Damascus, Mar. 4 (SANA) The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Turkish Maarif Foundation on Wednesday in Damascus to enhance educational cooperation.

The MoU was signed by Qutaiba Qadish for Syria and Nuh Yilmaz, Turkish Ambassador to Damascus, for Turkey.

The agreement aims to formalize the Maarif Foundation’s work in Syria in coordination with the Ministries of Education and Higher Education, establish schools from kindergarten through secondary education, support higher education through scholarships and scientific research, and provide students with technical and vocational skills.

The foundation will initially open schools in Damascus and Aleppo, with plans to expand across Syria. The Turkish Maarif Foundation operates internationally as a non-profit educational institution authorized to manage schools from preschool to higher education in nearly 70 countries.
