Arab League condemns Israeli occupation airstrikes on Syria

Cairo, SANA-The General Secretariat of the Arab League strongly condemned the raids launched by the Israeli occupation on Syria.

“These raids constitute a blatant attack on the sovereignty of an Arab state, a member of the League and the United Nations, and constitute a violation of international law and a disregard for the rules of the international system”, Al-Ahram Gate quoted the General Secretariat as saying in a statement on Wednesday.

The General Secretariat considered that the Israeli attacks represent “bullying” that the regional or international community cannot accept or pass, and must be stopped immediately.

It added: The occupation raids aim to stir up chaos in Syria, taking advantage of some of the events that occurred recently in Sweida province that the Syrian authorities themselves condemned it and described it in a statement as “shameful acts” and pledged to investigate them and impose penalties on anyone proven to have committed any violations or infractions.

The General Secretariat expressed full solidarity with Syria regarding these Israeli attacks, urging the government to act swiftly to defuse strife, address existing tensions through dialogue, and work to include all components of the Syrian people within the national framework.
