Brighton, Sept. 19 (SANA) Brighton & Hove Albion ended Arsenal’s perfect start to the season with an emphatic 3-0 victory over the Premier League champions on Saturday.
Pascal Gross and Charalampos Kostoulas converted Brighton’s first-half dominance into goals before Chema Andres added a header after the break, handing Arsenal their heaviest defeat in three years.
Arsenal had won seven consecutive matches in all competitions since the start of the campaign, including their opening four Premier League fixtures, but their winning run came to a halt against a Brighton side that climbed to third place.
Elsewhere, Tottenham Hotspur scored their first Premier League goals of the season but remained without a win after suffering a 3-2 home defeat to Aston Villa.
Promoted Hull City also suffered their first league defeat of the campaign, losing 2-1 away to Newcastle United, while Everton moved into the top five with a 1-0 victory over Ipswich Town.
