Hama, May 7 (SANA) Al-Nawair secured a hard-fought 74-71 win over Ahli Aleppo on Wednesday in the Final Six stage of the Syrian Men’s Basketball League at Nasih Alwani Hall.
The game opened at a fast pace, with both teams relying heavily on three-point shooting as the first quarter ended tied at 24-24.
Al-Nawair gained the upper hand in the second quarter after head coach Imad Shabara introduced Jamir Coleman and Ahmad Habash, helping the team build a 46-42 lead by halftime.
Ahli Aleppo responded in the third quarter through the strong performance of new signing David Hermiz, but Al-Nawair maintained its advantage and closed the period ahead 63-56.
The visitors mounted a late comeback attempt in the final quarter, but Mohammad Zidan scored decisive points in the closing moments to seal the three-point victory for Al-Nawair.
In another Final Six game, Al-Wahda edged Al-Karama 82-81.
