Amman, July 24 (SANA) Syria’s U-17 girls’ national football team advanced to the final of the sixth West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) Girls Championship after beating Palestine 6-5 in a penalty shootout following a goalless draw in regulation time.
Syria opened its campaign with a 1-0 win over Saudi Arabia, followed by an emphatic 8-0 victory against the United Arab Emirates, before concluding the group stage with a 1-0 win over Lebanon to finish top of the group without conceding a goal.
Syria will face the winner of the other semifinal between Jordan and Lebanon in the championship final.
