London, May 20 (SANA) Arsenal secured the Premier League title on Tuesday after Manchester City drew 1-1 with Bournemouth, leaving the north London club four points clear with one game remaining and ending a 22-year wait for the championship.
Arsenal, runners-up in the previous three seasons, will lift the trophy on Sunday after their final match against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
Players and staff watched the Manchester City match at the club’s training ground, while supporters gathered outside Emirates Stadium before celebrating the result.
Captain Declan Rice posted “It’s done” on social media, while British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, London Mayor Sadiq Khan and Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton were among those congratulating the club.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola also congratulated Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, the players and supporters, saying: “They deserve it.”
