Homs, April (SANA) Syrian basketball club Homs Al-Fidaa said Thursday it has terminated the contract of its American player Mohammad Bashir Ahmad by mutual consent after nearly four months with the team.
The club said in a statement posted on its official Facebook page that the decision was agreed upon by both parties.
Ahmad had been playing for the club’s first basketball team. No details were given on the reasons behind the termination.
The move comes as part of the club’s preparations for the second half of the Syrian basketball league season. Homs Al-Fidaa lost its opening game of the phase to Al-Nawair in the Homs derby.
The club is now seeking to strengthen its squad with new foreign players ahead of the upcoming matches.
