President al-Sharaa issues new customs laws for 2026
The new customs legislation aims to modernize Syria’s customs framework - SANA

Damascus, May 18 (SANA) President Ahmad al-Sharaa issued Decrees No. 109 and 110 of 2026, introducing new Customs Laws to replace Laws No. 37 and 38 of 2006 and their subsequent amendments.

While Decree 110 adopts the Harmonized Customs Tariff, with enforcement set to begin on June 1, 2026.

Earlier on Monday, president al-Sharaa issued Decree No. 96 of 2026 appointing Omar Mohammad Shaqrouq as Chief Executive Officer of the Syrian Electricity Company (SEC).
