Cairo, June 7 (SANA) The Arab Parliament strongly condemned the repeated Iranian attacks on Kuwait and Bahrain using drones and ballistic missiles, stressing that the attacks represent a flagrant violation of international law, the United Nations Charter, and the sovereignty, security and stability of states.
In a statement published on the Parliament’s official website on Saturday, Arab Parliament Speaker Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi said: “The continuation of these hostile acts reflects an unacceptable approach that undermines regional security and stability and threatens to widen the scope of conflict in the region.”
Al Yamahi stressed the need for a firm international stance to deter such practices and put an end to them.
He reaffirmed the Arab Parliament’s full and unwavering solidarity with Kuwait and Bahrain, expressing support for all measures taken by the two countries to safeguard their national security, protect citizens and residents, and preserve vital facilities.
The Parliament also reiterated its categorical rejection of any attack targeting the sovereignty of Arab states or threatening their security and stability.
Al Yamahi renewed his assertion that the security of the Gulf states is an integral part of Arab national security and that any threat to it constitutes a threat to collective Arab security.
He called on the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities by taking action to stop the repeated attacks and prevent threats that could destabilize the region or endanger international peace and security.
Kuwait and Bahrain were subjected on Saturday to Iranian missile and drone attacks. Similar attacks on Wednesday targeted Kuwait International Airport, killing one person, injuring 63 others, and causing damage to the country’s main airport.
