World Capitals, Feb. 28 (SANA) – France, Germany and United Kingdom condemned Iranian missile attacks targeting several Gulf countries and Jordan, warning that the escalation threatens regional security and stability.
In a joint statement issued Saturday following trilateral consultations, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer strongly denounced the strikes, reaffirming their rejection of any actions that endanger regional peace.
Macron also called for an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council, warning that continued escalation between Iran on one side and the United States and Israel on the other poses risks to all parties and must stop immediately.
Separately, Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prévot expressed his country’s full solidarity with the Arab states affected by the attacks, stressing that Iran continues advancing its nuclear and ballistic programs despite years of diplomatic engagement involving the European trio, the European Union and the United States.
Iran launched ballistic missile attacks earlier Saturday targeting Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan, prompting widespread international condemnation following joint US-Israeli strikes on Iranian territory.
