Riyadh, Feb. 10 (SANA) – The Saudi cabinet on Tuesday praised the level of cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Syria, following the signing of a number of strategic contracts between the two countries in a step considered a new phase of economic and investment partnership.
“The Saudi Cabinet commends the efforts exerted to support bilateral cooperation, most recently the visit of a Saudi delegation to Damascus to launch strategic projects and contracts in the aviation, health, telecommunications, water, industry, and education sectors, contributing to strengthening infrastructure and driving economic growth in Syria”, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) quoted Minister of State for Shura Council Affairs Issam bin Saeed as saying following a meeting of the Cabinet, chaired by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
Last Saturday, Syria and Saudi Arabia signed a number of strategic contracts at the People’s Palace in Damascus, in the presence of President Ahmad al-Sharaa.
In relevant context, the Council affirmed its support for the outcomes of the meeting of the International Coalition to Defeat ISIS, hosted by the Kingdom on Monday, stressing the importance of continuing international efforts and taking practical steps to confront terrorism and the direct threat it poses to the security and stability of societies.
