Damascus, Feb. 9 (SANA) – Director of the Afro-Asian and Oceania Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ashhad al-Salibi, discussed with Chargé d’Affaires of the Japanese Embassy in Damascus, Akihiro Tsuji relations between Syria and Japan.
Talks during the meeting dealt with bilateral relations between both countries and ways to enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest, in a manner that serves shared interests and contributes to stability and development in the country. The two sides also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues.
The meeting comes within the framework of ongoing diplomatic engagement between Syria and Japan, as Damascus stresses the importance of expanding cooperation with friendly countries, particularly in humanitarian and development fields. Japan, for its part, has reiterated its support for efforts aimed at enhancing stability, alleviating humanitarian burdens and contributing to Syria’s recovery process.
