Bern, Jan. 31 (SANA) Switzerland has welcomed an agreement between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), saying it would contribute to stability in Syria.
In a statement posted on X on Friday, the Swiss Foreign Ministry said the agreement provides “an important framework for a ceasefire and for advancing an inclusive political transition,” and encourages continued efforts towards building a state for all Syrians.
Earlier on Friday, the Syrian government announced it had reached a comprehensive agreement with the SDF on a ceasefire, including an understanding on a phased integration of military and administrative staff between the two sides.
According the deal, Syrian security forces are set to enter the centers of the cities of Hasakah and Qamishli, while the State will assume control of all civil and government institutions, as well as border crossings and entry points.
