Ankara, Jan. 28 (SANA) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday spoke by phone with US President Donald Trump to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments, including the situation in Syria.
According to Turkey’s Anadolu Agency, President Erdogan underscored the importance of sustaining the ceasefire and ensuring the full implementation of the agreement on the integration of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) into Syrian state institutions. He said Turkey is closely monitoring the process in coordination with the Syrian and US sides.
The two leaders also exchanged views on developments in the Gaza Strip, as well as broader regional and international issues.
On January 18, President Ahmad al-Sharaa signed a ceasefire agreement providing for the full integration of the SDF into state institutions. Earlier on Tuesday, President Erdogan reiterated Turkey’s support for Syria in various fields, highlighting Decree No. 13 issued by President al-Sharaa, which affirms that Kurdish citizens are an integral part of the Syrian people.
