Damascus, Dec. 24 (SANA) Syria’s Ministry of Defense has expressed condolences to Libya following the death of Libyan Chief of Staff General Mohammed al-Haddad and members of his delegation in a military plane crash in Turkey.
In a statement, the ministry said it received the news “with deep sorrow and grief” and extended its sympathy to Libya’s Ministry of Defense. It expressed solidarity with the families of the victims and prayed for mercy on the deceased and strength for their loved ones.
The crash occurred shortly after the plane took off from Ankara, ending a visit by the Libyan military delegation to Turkey. Libya’s Prime Minister, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, confirmed the deaths late Tuesday.
