Capitals, Aug 31 (SANA) Qatar, Kuwait and Egypt on Monday condemned Iranian attacks targeting Jordan and the United Arab Emirates, warning that the escalation threatens regional security and stability.
Qatar’s Foreign Ministry described the attacks as a serious escalation that undermines diplomatic efforts to contain tensions and violates the sovereignty of the two countries and international law. It called for an immediate halt to military action and a return to dialogue, reaffirming Qatar’s support for Jordan and the UAE.
Kuwait also condemned the attacks as a violation of the UAE’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, stressing its full solidarity with Abu Dhabi and support for measures taken to protect its security.
Meanwhile, Egypt expressed concern over the continued attacks and the risk of the confrontation widening, calling for respect for state sovereignty, the protection of maritime security and freedom of navigation, and an end to the escalation.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry urged a return to diplomatic efforts to restore regional security and prevent the conflict from spreading.
Earlier on Monday, the UAE Defense Ministry said its air defenses had intercepted a drone over territorial waters, while Jordan’s armed forces said they had intercepted and destroyed eight missiles in the kingdom’s airspace before they could threaten civilians or property.
