Kuwait, Aug. 26 (SANA) Kuwait on Wednesday condemned Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz’s illegal entry into Syrian territory, saying the move violated Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, international law and the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.
In a statement posted Wednesday on X, the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry called on the international community and the U.N. Security Council to fulfill their responsibilities by acting to halt what it described as repeated Israeli occupation attacks and compel Israel to immediately withdraw from Syrian territory.
The ministry reiterated Kuwait’s firm support for Syria’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, security and stability.
Syria on Tuesday condemned Katz’s illegal entry into Syrian territory and his crossing of the international border, saying such actions constituted a blatant violation of the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Syria described the move as a clear provocation and a violation of international law and the U.N. Charter, as well as a breach of obligations under the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, which stipulates respect for ceasefire lines and prohibits crossing them
