Washington, Aug. 10 (SANA) The U.S. military announced that it had rerouted 55 commercial vessels bound for Iran by Aug. 9 as part of operations linked to restrictions imposed on Iranian ports.
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a statement published on the X platform that it had rerouted the vessels, disabled two others and inspected two additional ships to ensure compliance with the restrictions.
The U.S. military said the guided-missile destroyer USS Ross (DDG-71) was among more than 20 U.S. warships deployed in the region to support military operations and monitor maritime traffic.
The announcement follows a previous statement by the U.S. military on Saturday that it had rerouted 53 commercial vessels as part of the same operations, while saying the actions would continue.
