Damascus, July 21 (SANA) People’s Assembly Speaker Abdulhamid Al Awak received two phone calls from Khalid bin Hilal bin Nasser Al Maawali, Chairman of the Shura Council of the Sultanate of Oman and the Speaker of the Jordanian House of Representatives, Mazen Turki Saud Al Qadi.
They extended their congratulations on his election as Speaker of the Assembly and his assumption of legislative duties.
Both sides affirmed the depth of the relations linking Syria with Oman and Jordan. Members of the Syrian People’s Assembly had elected, during the first session held on Sunday, July 12, MP Abdulhamid Aqil Al Awak as Speaker of the Assembly after he secured 99 votes.
