Qatar, Türkiye discuss regional developments and de-escalation efforts
Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani meets Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Doha.

Doha, July 20 (SANA) Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani met Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Doha on Sunday to discuss bilateral relations and the latest regional developments.

According to the Qatar News Agency (QNA), the two sides reviewed ways to strengthen cooperation and exchanged views on ongoing diplomatic efforts and regional coordination aimed at de-escalation and enhancing security and stability.

Qatari Minister stressed the importance of all parties remaining committed to dialogue and diplomacy and implementing the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran, including provisions to ensure freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz in order to safeguard regional security and preserve recent gains.

He reaffirmed Qatar‘s support for all efforts aimed at reducing tensions and reaching a comprehensive agreement that would help achieve lasting peace and stability in the region.

The meeting comes after the United States and Iran resumed hostilities despite a June memorandum of understanding that established a ceasefire framework and included commitments to ensure freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
