Thirteen people were martyred and 24 others injured in the Israeli attack on the town of Beit Jinn in the Damascus countryside early Friday, medical sources said.

Damascus Countryside Health Director Dr. Tawfiq Hasaba told SANA, “The number of martyrs from the Israeli aggression on the town of Beit Jinn in the Damascus countryside has risen to 13.” He added that the number of injuries has risen to 24, and they have been transferred to al-Muwasat, Qatana, al-Mujtahid, and Golan National hospitals, in a preliminary count.
The attack took place early in the morning, according to SANA reporter, who said Israeli forces targeted Beit Jinn with artillery shelling at 3:40 a.m., while a military force entered the town and arrested three people before withdrawing.
He added that residents confronted the Israeli forces, who opened heavy fire, leading to violent clashes with the residents.
Simultaneously, Israeli aircraft conducted extensive patrols over the town, and warplanes released incendiary balloons over the area following the clashes. Residents are also fleeing to nearby towns.
