Damascus, May 23 (SANA) The Higher Elections Committee carried out final inspections of polling stations in Hasakah and is dispatching a delegation to Ayn al-Arab as authorities prepare for tomorrow’s People’s Assembly elections, Nawar Najmeh, the committee’s spokesperson, said.
Najmeh told SANA that a delegation led by committee representatives met with local subcommittees in Hasakah Province to review last-minute arrangements and coordinate with municipal and security officials.
Inspection teams checked designated polling sites to confirm the readiness of secret ballot rooms, the availability of election materials, required logistical and security measures, and access for local and foreign media coverage.
Najmeh said committee members Imad Barq and Muhammad Wali will travel to Ayn al-Arab in Aleppo province today to inspect the polling center there and complete oversight and logistical checks.
He reiterated that local authorities have provided the necessary security and logistical support to ensure the vote proceeds smoothly.
Voting is scheduled to begin tomorrow, Sunday, at 8:00 a.m. in Hasakah and Qamishli, concurrent with polling in Ayn al-Arab, and will run until 12:00 p.m., with a possible one-hour extension if needed. Ballot counting will start immediately after polls close, and preliminary results will be released as soon as counting concludes.
The committee said the inspections and deployments form part of broader efforts by electoral authorities and local officials to ensure a transparent, orderly electoral process in the affected districts.
