Interior Ministry: Killing of Doctor in Aleppo result from Family Dispute

Damascus, SANA-Interior Ministry spokesman Nour al-Din al-Baba confirmed that investigations into the killing of a doctor in Aleppo’s al-Jamiliya neighborhood revealed the crime was driven by a family inheritance dispute.

In a statement on his Telegram channel, al-Baba explained that following a report of Dr. Basel Zaino being fatally shot outside his clinic, the Aleppo Internal Security Command immediately launched a criminal investigation.

He noted that investigators quickly identified the perpetrator as one of the victim’s relatives, with evidence confirming the motive was a family conflict over inheritance.

The Interior Ministry affirmed that the Internal Security Command in Aleppo will continue to pursue the case and take all necessary legal measures against those involved, stressing its commitment to ensuring justice, security, and public safety.

The ministry reiterated that it remains dedicated to confronting anyone who seeks to spread disorder or undermine stability, emphasizing its role as a national institution serving the people and safeguarding their rights and dignity.
