Washington, Oct. 28 (SANA) U. S. Central Command (CENTCOM) on Tuesday denied claims by the commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy that U.S. forces had withdrawn from the Strait of Hormuz and moved hundreds of kilometers away.

In a post on X, CENTCOM said U.S. forces deployed in the Middle East remain present and vigilant in the Strait of Hormuz and surrounding waters. It added that its forces and regional partners control the international waterway, rather than Iran.

On October 16, CENTCOM announced that it had significantly curtailed Iran’s military and economic capabilities, citing the destruction of naval vessels and weapons production facilities and a reduction in the Revolutionary Guard’s ability to launch ballistic missiles and drones, alongside increased financial and maritime pressure on Tehran.
