Islamabad, May 10 (SANA) — The death toll from an attack targeting a police station in Pakistan’s northwestern city of Bannu has risen to 12 police officers, according to local authorities.
Agence France-Presse (AFP) quoted police official Mohammad Sajjad Khan as saying on Sunday that 12 police personnel were confirmed dead in the attack, while five others were injured and one officer remains missing
Earlier reports had indicated that three police officers were killed and several others wounded in the attack.
On April 24, the Pakistani army announced that security forces had killed 22 militants during clashes in the country’s northwest.
